One Little Word 6x6 Canvas

I am teaching a class at Stampin'Cat next week that is based on Ali Edward's "One Little Word" idea and philosophy. If you've not heard of it before, the idea is that you choose one word to focus on each year. That word helps inspire and motivate you as you achieve your goals, stick to your resolutions and so on, throughout your year. It is a very powerful thing. I'm teaching a canvas class where we'll take a 6x6 Canvas and make an art piece that highlights our word for the year. I'm revisiting an old word: Do. I loved this word a few years ago, and as I reflected on what I wanted to accomplish in 2009, it seemed appropriate to use it again. I used paint, crackle paint, some of my favorite stamps (Tim H0ltz and CatsLife Press) a metal "muse" token from Tim Holtz, and some random bits of lace and velvet. I stamped the saying onto mulberry paper, and used collage gel to adhere it to the canvas. I highlighted some of the grungeboard pieces with the new Distress Stickles. LOTS of fun putting this together!

Very nice. It makes me think, "what's my word?" Maybe "BE" Sometime I just need to BE... be still, be calm, be a mom, be a wife, be happy... hmmmm. Something to think about.

Well, since you have Ben right now I am going to go lay down. I am feeling better today. Thank you for being sucha great friend! I just got out of the shower since I wasn't sure when else I would get one. Love you!

Great canvas! I"m sure the class will be enjoyed by all. After making a 2008 word canvas last year I've decided to make one for 2009. It's in the works now.
